Nourish!: A Guide to Incorporating Local Food at the Family Table

Our herbalist and nutrition educator, Ayo Ngozi, brings food demonstrations to the farmers market this summer as a part of the Georgia Farmers’ Market association’s Nourish program. For the first food demonstration, which took place on Saturday June 17th, Ayo combined locally sourced ingredients from five of our vendors in order to make delicious quesadillas.

The intention of the program is to demonstrate how to incorporate local food into home cooked meals in tasty, healthy, and economical ways. In addition, we are also raising awareness of the program Georgia Fresh For Less through Wholesome Wave Georgia, which enables us to double EBT/SNAP dollars in order to make food more affordable and accessible.

The next on-site cooking experience will take place on July 22nd at our Saturday market. Come by and get your free samples!
