Ogeechee River Gardens is located in Richmond Hill, Georgia, on the beautiful Ogeechee River. Michele Pokrandt has a small garden that she tends, and she is proud to bring the vegetables it produces to the farmers’ market. Everything in her garden is grown organically and arrives at the market as fresh as possible, which this time of year means cutting fresh basil at 5:30 on Saturday mornings by the glow of her golf cart’s headlights. She is grateful to have the support of her husband and children when she needs a helping hand. Besides fresh vegetables, Michele also sells seedlings and potted herbs grown with organic practices. This is her first year selling at the Forsyth Farmers’ Market and she is enjoying the customers that visit her booth, the conversations about food and sharing recipes.
