Who We Are

The Mission

Our mission is to promote understanding and participation in a local food system that supports sustainable production and increases access to local products. We achieve this by supporting local growers, producers, and consumers, especially those with low-access to fresh, affordable food.

 Goals

  • FFM connects communities affected by food apartheid with local farmers, food artisans and other resources.

  • FFM uses education to support our communities’ ability to practice self determination in a local food system.

  • FFM develops strategic partnerships and act in solidarity with individuals, communities, and organizations who align with our principles.

  • FFM acts as a resource for local farmers and artisans and supports them throughout all our programming.

 Principles

The overwhelming focus of Forsyth Farmers’ Market is to support local growers, producers, and consumers, especially those with low-access to fresh, affordable food.

Nutritious food is a right. FFM strives to make food financially and physically accessible to all community members.

FFM keeps program requirements simple. We maintain reasonable fees and recruit volunteers that support local growers and producers.

FFM welcomes all citizens! As an organization, we strive for diversity and inclusivity.

FFM regularly conducts community outreach; this ensures everyone knows how and where to access fresh, local food.

Education will be provided to all FFM program participants to create a better personal understanding of our local food system.

FFM believes that food production should be environmentally conscious and done locally, using sustainable methods.
